Acker Electric Company Inc. is a privately-owned, second-generation family business that has been operating and serving northeast Alabama for almost 60 years. Founded in 1958 by Gerald "Snake" Acker, the company started as a small, residential electrical contractor and has since grown into a full-service electrical contractor, offering a wide range of services from new construction to maintenance projects, and everything in between.

We are primarily a Small Business Electrical Contractor, but we are also licensed by the State of Alabama as a General Contractor with additional self-perform capabilities. This allows us to take on projects of any size, from small to multi-million dollar projects, providing flexible and creative management for any opportunity.

Our experience and expertise have earned us a reputation for having an Attitude of service, Excellence in quality, and a Commitment to safety. We have had the privilege of serving many local customers, including Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center, Honda of Alabama, and Kronospan, as well as working extensively with the local military community.

At Acker Electric, we are driven by our employees, many of whom have over 30 years of service and experience. We offer a state-certified training program for new hires who wish to work towards their Journeyman license. Safety is a top priority, and we strive to maintain the highest standards in all our operations.
