Empowering visually impaired Vermonters to lead fulfilling lives

At the Vermont Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (VABVI), we strive to enhance the quality of life for individuals who are blind or visually impaired in Vermont. As the only private agency providing training, services, and support to visually impaired Vermonters, our mission is to enable individuals to be more independent, cultivate adaptive skills, and improve their overall well-being.

Our Services

We offer a comprehensive range of services tailored to meet the unique needs of adults and children with vision impairments. For adults, our low-vision services are provided free of charge and include orientation and mobility training, transportation and getting around assistance, adaptive equipment and technology support, peer-assisted learning and support, and vision services. Additionally, we provide S.M.A.R.T. device training and a valuable information resource guide.

For children, we focus on empowering them to move independently at home, school, and around town. Our services include infant and toddler early intervention, LEAP and HAPI programs, expanded core curriculum resources, and support for parents.

Our Commitment

At VABVI, we are committed to providing exceptional support and resources to visually impaired individuals, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives. Our dedicated team of professionals works tirelessly to ensure that our clients receive the highest quality services, tailored to their unique needs and goals.

How We Make a Difference

Through our comprehensive services, we make a tangible difference in the lives of visually impaired Vermonters. By empowering individuals with adaptive skills, providing access to innovative technology, and fostering a supportive community, we help our clients regain confidence, independence, and a renewed sense of purpose. Our commitment to excellence has earned us a reputation as a trusted and reliable partner for those living with vision impairments.
