At Vickie's Learning Center, we believe that a child's early years are crucial for their development and growth. As a mother and an experienced educator, I, Vickie Chedgy, have dedicated my career to creating a nurturing environment that fosters learning, socialization, and emotional development in children. Our center has been providing high-quality in-home childcare services since 2003, and we take immense pride in our facilities, programs, and personnel.
Our Philosophy
We believe that children thrive in a setting that offers a balance of structure and freedom. Our daily schedule is designed to provide a sense of routine and predictability, while also allowing children to explore, create, and learn at their own pace. We understand the importance of socialization, and we provide opportunities for children to interact with peers of varying developmental ages, promoting important skills like teamwork, sharing, and communication.
Our Programs
We offer a range of programs catering to children from infancy to school age. Our experienced educators work closely with parents to create customized learning plans that cater to each child's unique needs, interests, and abilities. Our programs are designed to promote cognitive, social, and emotional development through a combination of play-based learning activities, circle time, and outdoor activities.
Daily Schedule
Our daily schedule is carefully crafted to provide a balance of structured and free play activities. We understand the importance of establishing a routine, and our schedule helps children adjust to being away from home and reduces anxiety. Our daily schedule includes arrivals, breakfast, bus stop departure and outdoor exercise, alphabet-number-music activities, morning snack and reading books, and rest time. We also have a weekly schedule that outlines meal times, including breakfast, lunch, and snacks.
Meal Program
We offer a nutritious meal program designed to cater to the varying dietary needs of our children. Our meals are prepared fresh daily and include a range of foods that promote healthy eating habits. We believe that mealtime is an essential part of a child's development, teaching important social skills like communication, sharing, and frustration tolerance.
Accreditations and Certifications
We are proud to hold the Silver Circle of Quality from ExceleRate Illinois, achieved in May 2016. We were previously rated 3 Stars by the Quality Star Quality Rating System (QRS) in October 2013. We are also nationally accredited by the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC), reflecting our commitment to providing high-quality, research-based childcare services.
