Mi Cocina

At Mi Familia Foundation, we pride ourselves on being a family-first organization. Founded in 1991, our story began with the opening of the first Mi Cocina restaurant in Dallas, Texas. Since then, we have expanded to several locations across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, each one serving up delicious Mexican cuisine and exceptional service.

Our Story

Our journey began with four original partners - Michael "Mico" Rodriguez, Ray and Dick Washburne, and Bob McNutt. They had a vision to create a restaurant that served the highest quality ingredients in every recipe, and people soon took notice. The second Mi Cocina opened in 1993, and our Mexican food concept, Taco Diner, was developed in 1998, focusing on fresh fish, salads, and classic tacos. We also ventured into fine dining with the opening of The Mercury in 1998, which was immediately named Restaurant of the Year.

Our Commitment to Our Team

At Mi Familia Foundation, we believe that our team is our family. We believe in supporting our employees, not just in their careers but also in times of need. We have established the Familia Fund, a 501(c)(3) designed to provide short-term crisis relief assistance to active and retired M Crowd Team Members and their immediate families.

Community Impact

We are committed to giving back to our community through various initiatives and partnerships. We have partnered with organizations such as Children's Health in Dallas to drive awareness, engage with our neighbors, and create change. Our commitment to our community is evident in our Disaster Relief efforts, where we provide food and other essentials to those affected by natural disasters.

Portfolio

Our portfolio includes a diverse range of community initiatives and events. From fundraising events to disaster relief efforts, we are constantly looking for ways to give back to our community. Our events have included the annual "Mambo Miles" race and creative fundraising activities that bring our team and community together.
