Welcome to the Spokane Home Builders Association (SHBA), a member-driven organization committed to promoting, protecting, and educating in order to create attainable housing options for our community. Since 1947, we have been dedicated to serving seven Eastern Washington counties and are proud to be over 700 members strong, consisting of professional home builders, architects, remodelers, suppliers, manufacturers, and sales and marketing professionals. Our members share a common goal: to make our community stronger by providing affordable, quality residential housing.

Working for the Housing Industry at All Levels

When you join SHBA, you become part of a 3-in-1 membership that offers advocacy, education, important industry updates, networking, and more at the local, state, and national levels. At the state level, the Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW) represents over 8,200 member companies, focusing on educating, influencing, and affecting legislative policy in Washington. BIAW provides valuable tools to grow your business, such as the Return on Industrial Insurance (R.O.I.I.) Select Program, Building Industry Insurance, Member Rebate Program, Workforce Development Program, and more.

On the national front, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) represents the interests of home builder members throughout the country. NAHB's team monitors and lobbies on pro-housing legislative and regulatory issues, providing valuable services such as savings programs, educational courses, skilled workforce development resources, marketing tools, and more.

Promoting, Protecting, and Educating

SHBA is dedicated to promoting the housing industry through various channels, including our biannual Spokane Home & Garden Show, an excellent platform for members to showcase their products and services. We also host the annual Fall Festival of Homes, which highlights our members' outstanding work in home construction and remodeling.

Our association is committed to protecting the housing industry by actively participating in government affairs. We work closely with local, state, and federal officials to ensure pro-housing legislation and regulations are in place, giving our members a strong, united voice in the political process.

Education is a vital aspect of SHBA's mission. Through our events and classes, we offer continuous learning opportunities for members to enhance their skills and knowledge in the ever-evolving housing industry. We also prioritize workforce development, fostering relationships with schools and community organizations to promote careers in the construction trades.

Advocacy Building for the Future

SHBA is dedicated to advocating for the housing industry's future. Through our partnership with Hayden Homes and the NAHB, we have raised money to support wildfire recovery efforts, aiding those who have lost their homes. We also support the "Tiny Getaway" workforce development project, which provides students with hands-on construction experience and helps address the industry's skilled labor shortage.
