Our Story

Base Modern Hair Studio opened its doors in May 2018, founded by owners Brandon Frost and Gina Liangos. Their vision was to create an upscale and stylish salon for the downriver community, where clients could come to relax and unwind while receiving top-notch hair care services. Our team of skilled stylists specialize in modern hair techniques, including cut and color, balayage, extensions, and more.

We offer a wide range of services to cater to your every hair need. From cut and style, full color, and highlights, to balayage, color correction, and extensions, our talented stylists are skilled in the latest techniques to ensure you leave the salon feeling confident and beautiful. We also offer additional services such as shampoo and blow dry, facial waxing, and bridal and event up-do or formal styles. To top it off, we use only the highest-quality products from Moroccanoil and Amika, ensuring that your hair receives the best care possible.

Our Products

We're proud to partner with Moroccanoil and Amika, two industry-leading brands that share our commitment to excellence. Moroccanoil products are oil-infused, offering a unique approach to hair care and styling for every hair type and need. Amika products are vegetarian-friendly, cruelty-free, and free from sulfates, MIT, MCI, Phthalates, and artificial colors. All of these high-performing, professional products are available for sale in our studio, so you can continue to enjoy the same level of care at home.

Appointments and Policies

We understand that your time is valuable, and we strive to respect that. All appointments are made directly with the stylist, and we ask that you provide a 24-hour notice when canceling or rescheduling. Late arrival may result in an adjustment to your service to avoid running late for the next guest. Your stylist may elect to reschedule an appointment running 15 minutes late or more to ensure the best possible experience for all clients.

Payment and Gratuities

For your convenience, our stylists accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, debit, cash, and personal checks with proper identification. All credit and debit card payments will be made directly to your stylist using the Square point of sale system. Gratuities are at the discretion of the client and are greatly appreciated.
