Our Story

Olathea Creek Vineyard & Winery is a small, family-owned business dedicated to making delicious, quality wine with local grapes and fruits. Our story began with a simple gift, a winemaking starter kit, which sparked Julia's passion for winemaking. With the help of her husband Bryce, they continued to learn and experiment with different grapes, fruits, and flowers to create unique and delicious wines. As their hobby turned into a family business, they knew they had to share their love of wine with the community.

Vineyard

Our vineyard is located in LeClaire, Iowa, and features a picturesque creek and a country setting along the majestic Mississippi River. We planted our first 2 acres of vineyard in May of 2019, with a focus on sustainability and locally sourced grapes. Our vineyard boasts two varieties of grapes, Petite Pearl and L'Acadie Blanc, both of which are relatively new in the US. We are excited to be one of the few Iowa wineries to be making wine with these new varieties.

Our Wines

At Olathea Creek Vineyard & Winery, we craft our wines with love, using local grapes and fruits. Our wine production started in the Fall of 2020, and we are proud to offer a variety of wines, ranging from dry to sweet, to suit every taste. Whether you prefer a crisp white wine or a rich red wine, we are confident that you will find something to enjoy.

Events

We would be delighted to host your special occasion at Olathea Creek Vineyard & Winery. Our beautiful outdoor spaces offer a unique and romantic setting for weddings and receptions. Our private tasting room is perfect for smaller events, such as bridal showers, birthday parties, or retirement parties.

Music on the Lawn

Join us for our Summer Concert Series, featuring live music and wine among the vines. Bring your own blankets, lawn chairs, and snacks, but please leave your coolers at home. We're excited to host the following bands: Ginger Roots, Cale Bowe, CJ Parker, The Jason and John Experience, Pickled Beats, and Don Gustafson.

Yoga in the Vineyard

Join us for a peaceful yoga class in the vineyard, followed by a glass of wine in the winery. Register with Intuitive Peace Yoga prior to the event. Don't miss our dates: May 26th, June 23rd, July 14th, August 18th, September 15th, and October 6th.

DIY/Craft Nights

Join us for our DIY/Craft Nights, hosted by Joanne Cunningham. Register prior to the event and enjoy a fun night of crafting and socializing. Our next event will take place on Friday, March 22nd, at 6PM.
