Meet Neyda De La Pena

Neyda De La Pena is a simple woman with a joyful and adventurous spirit who finds an authentic and liberating way in her creations to express the depth of her being and her perception of her life. She was born in Mexico in 1973 and studied economics at La Salle University in Mexico. Her taste for Art dates back to her childhood, and she always needed to create, distinguishing herself in dance, poetry, and oratory.

She made her first works in 2007, and her first figurative artwork entitled "Pretty Woman, " was carved on an old wooden board, thus giving the beginning of her works of art. Since then, she has been creating fabulous pieces that are increasingly interesting, adding elements such as metal. For several years, she traveled through the western states of the United States, promoting her career by participating in distinguished art festivals, surprising the public by the originality of her works.

Neyda's artwork transcended through these years, and the public increasingly recognizes her work. She has dedicated her life to art, after more than 2500 works, her mind does not stop creating. During events of daily life, her own experiences, or conversations with people, she is acquiring material for her works, and she tries to represent all these events with a very personal point of view. She thinks that is why some people identify with some of her creations because in some way it suggests or reminds them of something from their own lives.

Her work is rustic, simple, and practical; she uses wood, metal, and oil, and she likes to create textures that invite you to touch the work to feel its rusticity and appreciate its simplicity. Over time, she has realized that her works are made for each person in particular because when someone acquires a piece, it is as if that work had been made especially for that person, and that fills her with great joy because she knows that person would appreciate that work for a long time.
