Finger Lakes Ballet Academy

At Finger Lakes Ballet Academy, we are dedicated to providing a comprehensive dance education that goes beyond technical skill. Our mission is to nurture the growth of our students into confident, expressive, and compassionate individuals. Founded in 2003 by Catherine Sciarratta, our academy offers a range of classes including Ballet, Tap, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, and Modern Combo classes for students of all ages. Our instructors are passionate about their craft and are committed to helping each student reach their full potential.

Our Team

Cathy Sciarratta, our owner and instructor, brings a wealth of experience to the academy. She grew up dancing at Sandy Stramonine School of Dance and studied with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. Jaime Hull, an instructor for 12 years, received her BA in English and Education at Nazareth College and has attended classes at several renowned institutions. Alisha Love, a performer and choreographer, graduated with a B.F.A. in Dance from The College at Brockport and has performed internationally. Todd VanSlambrouck, our newest instructor, holds an MFA in Dance from The Ohio State University and has performed with several companies including Garth Fagan Dance and GroundWorks DanceTheatre.

What We Offer

Our academy offers a variety of classes designed to cater to different interests and skill levels. From classical ballet to hip hop and jazz, our instructors are dedicated to providing a supportive environment where students can grow and develop their skills. We believe that dance is not just about technical proficiency but also about building confidence, creativity, and self-discipline. Our students have gone on to pursue collegiate dance programs and local companies, a testament to the quality of our education.
