Our Story

Bellissimo Paint and Coatings began as a small family-owned business in 2008 with a single paint pump. Over the years, we have grown to become one of southern Minnesota's leading painting and home improvement companies. We pride ourselves on our commitment to using superior products and techniques, which, combined with our professionalism, sets us apart from the competition. We specialize in custom interior and exterior painting for both residential and commercial clients, including woodwork.

*Eduardo Ek, Owner*

Eduardo Ek's love for painting began in high school, where his exploration of colors led him to take up landscape painting. His satisfaction with the painting process from start to finish led him to win his school's painter of the year award. Today, he is still amazed that people are willing to pay him to be engaged in such a therapeutic process. Eduardo is a World War II enthusiast and enjoys traveling and fishing.

Jennifer Ek handles most of the clerical side of the business. She grew up in North Mankato and has lived in the Mankato area her entire life. She met Eduardo in high school and they have been together ever since. They have four children and three grandchildren. Jennifer speaks fluent Spanish, earned her degree in Social Work, and is a diehard Minnesota Vikings fan. She enjoys seeing both the growth and new development, and preservation of older structures that Bellissimo paints.

Justin Ek began painting ten years ago and has undertaken projects ranging from furniture refinishing to complete home remodeling. His eye for design, keen sense of detail, and constant effort to keep up with home styling trends make him an expert in new home construction projects. Justin married his high school sweetheart in 2012 and they live in North Mankato with their son.

Residential work is our specialty. We work closely with our customers from estimate to completion to ensure the highest possible quality for your project. Our interior custom paint jobs are our pride and joy. We have been tackling jobs of all levels of nuance for years. Our exterior paint jobs have been the driving force of our work in Southern Minnesota. We can help bring your dream home to life.

Hardwood refinishing is another service we offer. Thinking about replacing your old hardwood floors? Don't! They can likely be brought back to life with a little care and expertise. We can help repair and reinvigorate your concrete floors with our rigid and attractive coating system, typically finished in two to three days.
