At the Office of the District Attorney, our purpose is to humbly and effectively serve the people of Colorado throughout the 13th Judicial District. Our jurisdiction covers 11,432 square miles across the counties of Logan, Morgan, Phillips, Washington, Sedgwick, Yuma, and Kit Carson, making it the single largest judicial jurisdiction in the United States. Our team of attorneys, investigators, support staff, and victim advocates are dedicated to serving the people affected by crime and ensuring that justice is served.

Our Services

Our criminal prosecution services involve the prosecution of state felony and misdemeanor crimes, as well as some traffic offenses, within our jurisdiction. Meet Our Team

Our team is led by District Attorney Travis Sides and Assistant District Attorney Rebecca Wiard. Both Travis and Rebecca are dedicated public servants who are passionate about seeking justice and serving the people of Colorado.

Travis Sides, District Attorney, was born in Texas and grew up in South Dakota. He moved to Sterling, CO, where he received his Bachelor's degree from York College before attending the Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver. Travis started in the 13th Judicial District as a Deputy District Attorney in 2010 and has been prosecuting cases here ever since. His love for Northeast Colorado and his commitment to doing justice in every case led him to run for District Attorney.

Rebecca Wiard, Assistant District Attorney, was born and raised in Denver and has lived in Colorado most of her life. She attended CU Boulder for her undergraduate and Master's degrees before completing law school at John Marshall in Chicago. Rebecca held Deputy District Attorney positions at four judicial districts throughout Colorado before returning to the 13th Judicial District as Assistant District Attorney. She has a special place in her heart for the people and the rural life of Northeast Colorado and is passionate about seeing justice served.
