At Lightning Basketball, we are committed to providing a platform for young athletes in the New York City metropolitan area to develop their skills, gain confidence, and reach their full potential in the sport of basketball. With over 25 years of experience, our independent non-profit organization has been dedicated to offering top-notch coaching, high-level tournaments, and state-of-the-art facilities to help our players succeed at the high school and college levels.

Our Services

We offer a wide range of services and programs designed to cater to the needs of players of all ages and skill levels. Our AAU program provides a competitive environment for young athletes to test their skills against top-level opponents, while our developmental programs, such as Little Lightning and Lightning Developmental, focus on honing the fundamental skills of younger players. We also offer clinics, camps, and private instruction to help players improve their game.

In addition to our basketball programs, we also offer birthday and special event parties, as well as court rentals for teams and organizations. Our 53,000 square foot facility, Island Garden, is a state-of-the-art complex that features three basketball courts, a training area, and a concession stand. We also have a pro shop on site where players can purchase gear and apparel.

Our History

Lightning Basketball was founded in 1992 with the goal of providing a platform for young athletes in the New York City metropolitan area to develop their skills and reach their full potential in the sport of basketball. Since then, we have grown into one of the most respected and successful AAU programs in the country, with a reputation for producing top-level players who go on to succeed at the high school and college levels.
