Thomas Hart Academy

At Thomas Hart Academy, we are committed to providing a nurturing environment that fosters a love of learning and focuses on the individual child's academic and emotional well-being. As a private, independent, co-educational, non-discriminatory day school, we enroll approximately 140 students from 2K to 8th grade and offer a strong academic program, numerous co-curricular activities, and a variety of educational approaches and strategies to meet the diverse talents, interests, and personalities of our students.

Our History

Established in 1970, Thomas Hart Academy has a rich history of providing an academically challenging education in a warm, supportive environment to average and above average students with a wide range of talents and skills. With a 1:9 teacher to student ratio, we are able to provide personalized attention and support to each of our students, ensuring that they receive the education they deserve.

We view students as individuals with diverse talents, interests, and personalities and understand the necessity of using a variety of educational approaches and strategies.

Academic Excellence

We are proud of our academic achievements, with 75% of our students performing at or above the 75th percentile on the Stanford Achievement Test and 50% qualifying for the Duke Talent Identification Program. Our graduates are accepted into Darlington County magnet programs at a rate of 96%.
