2 Friends Gallery stands apart from other art spaces in Alaska. We offer a carefully curated and ever-evolving collection of original artwork, featuring a diverse range of styles and mediums. Adding to this collection, we proudly showcase a selection of unique, rare, and hard-to-find resale pieces by renowned Alaska and Alaska Native artists.
Our dedication to presenting exceptional art is evident in our commitment to displaying current works from many established local artists, alongside an eclectic assortment of jewelry, pottery, clothing, and textiles crafted by artisans from around the world. We strive to create an inviting and inspiring environment where visitors can browse, discover, and appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of art made by human hands.
Our Owners
2 Friends Gallery embarked on a new chapter in 2019 under the ownership of Debra Lindsay-Hudgins and Camille Strain. Debra, a native of the Detroit area, possesses a rich background in ministry and non-profit management. She earned an A.B. in religious studies from Asbury University and an M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary, and served as a United Methodist minister until 2011. Her subsequent career in institutional advancement led her to roles at Alaska Pacific University, the Alaska Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, and The Salvation Army. In 2015, Debra followed her passion for art by purchasing Artworks Gallery & Glass Studio in Eagle River. When the opportunity arose to acquire 2 Friends Gallery, she and her close friend Camille partnered together, bringing their shared enthusiasm and vision to Midtown Anchorage.
Married to Doug Lindsay, Debra finds joy in life with their five golden retriever children.
Camille, originally from Houston, Texas, is a registered nurse with a keen interest in art and community involvement. She holds an A.S. degree in Nursing from Macon College in Georgia and a B.S. degree in Psychology from UAA. In addition to her role as a NICU nurse at Providence Medical Center, Camille assumes responsibility for the administrative side of 2 Friends Gallery, a task she excels at (particularly payroll, according to the staff). Married to Bryant, Camille is the mother of six children, most of whom are thankfully grown.
Our Store Greeter: MaryBerry
Since 2020, MaryBerry, a.k.a. MBISS AM/CAN CH GCHB CH Sterling's EZ as Pie, has been gracing the gallery with her sweet presence as our official store greeter.
Named after Dame Mary Berry, the beloved judge from Great British Baking Show, MaryBerry brings a touch of warmth and whimsy to 2 Friends Gallery. In addition to her daily visits with her owner, MaryBerry leads a busy life as a conformation show dog, having competed in prestigious events across the United States, Canada, and even internationally.
Despite her impressive resume, MaryBerry's true passion lies in receiving belly rubs.
