With roots dating back to before 1940, our experience in the roofing and sheet metal business is unparalleled. We are a union-certified WBE firm located in Union City, NJ, and have completed projects in both New Jersey and New York. Our History

Jennie Mergola founded GEM Roofing and Waterproofing Corp. on October 31st, 1973, with the goal of delivering quality work in the New York metropolitan area. Over the years, she grew the business from a small operation to a company with over 85 employees. After her passing in 2017, her granddaughter, Victoria Mergola-May, took over as president, carrying on the family legacy. Victoria is a certified project manager and has a strong vision for the company's future, combining traditional values with modern approaches.
