Welcome to River Valley Aikido, a martial arts studio dedicated to teaching the traditional Japanese art of Aikido. Our dojo is a welcoming and inclusive community where students of all ages and abilities can learn and grow. We believe that Aikido is more than just a form of self-defense; it's a way of life that promotes compassion, self-awareness, and inner peace.

Aikido is a martial art that emphasizes harmony and blending with an attacker's energy rather than meeting force with force. Through the practice of joint locks, throws, and pins, Aikido teaches students how to redirect an attacker's momentum and neutralize their aggression. Our classes are designed to develop both physical and mental awareness, helping students become more confident, centered, and focused in all aspects of their lives.

The Zenshinkai Aikido Association

River Valley Aikido is a proud founding member of the Zenshinkai Aikido Association (ZAA), a nationally recognized Aikido association with ties to Hombu Dojo in Tokyo, Japan. The ZAA's instructional program is overseen by Chairman and Chief Instructor Greg Noble Sensei, a rokudan (6th degree) under the teaching methodology of the late Fumio Toyoda Shihan and Aikido Founder Morihei Ueshiba. Our own Dojocho and Chief Instructor, Greg Null Sensei, serves as the Vice-Chairman of the ZAA.

Our Instructors

Our instructors are experienced and dedicated martial artists who are passionate about sharing the art of Aikido with others. Our Chief Instructor, Greg Null Sensei, is a Yondan (4th degree black belt) Aikikai, recognized by Hombu dojo in Japan. Mr. Null continues to expand his knowledge and skills through seminars and training both in the United States and abroad. He is also certified in Aikido for Law Enforcement - Tactical Applications and teaches hand-to-hand combat tactics for the Sebastian County Sheriff's Dept. and S.W.A.T. team.

Aikido Classes for All Ages

At River Valley Aikido, we offer Aikido classes for all ages and abilities. Our Aikido for Kids program is designed to teach children the principles of Aikido in a fun and engaging way. Our adult classes are tailored to meet the needs of beginning and experienced students, with a focus on developing physical and mental awareness, coordination, and balance.

Try Not to Tear Others Down

As O'Sensei once said, "As soon as you concern yourself with the 'good' and 'bad' of your fellows, you create an opening in your heart for maliciousness to enter. Testing, competing with, and criticizing others weaken and defeat you." At River Valley Aikido, we strive to create a positive and supportive community where students can learn and grow without judgment or competition. We encourage our students to look inward and focus on their own progress and development.
