New Age Flamenco

New Age Flamenco is a vibrant and energetic band that specializes in live performances for a variety of events and occasions. Since our inception in 1998, we have been providing exceptional music for festivals, corporate events, restaurants, bars, small concert halls, private houses, cocktail parties, wine tastings, dance rooms, shopping malls, fundraising and charity events, wedding receptions, ceremonials, lunch and dinner times, private parties, dances, art exhibitions, and more. With our unique blend of modern music, Latin connection, Mediterranean folk, European roots, jazz, and gypsy soul, we are the perfect addition to any event looking to add a touch of infectious rhythm and energy.

The band was formed in 1998 by bass player Oleg Ruvinov, who brought together a group of professional musicians with a passion for creating a new and personal sound. In 1999, the band adopted the name "New Age Flamenco" and began frequently practicing and playing popular tunes by Armik, Gypsy Kings, Carlos Santana, Ottmar Liebert, and others. Our music reflects the diverse influences of our musicians, who come from a variety of backgrounds and musical trainings.

Oleg Ruvinov (Band Leader/Bass) started as a tuba and bassoon player in middle school and studied classical music and jazz in College at Baku, Azerbaijan. He later studied at Gnesyn's musical Academy in Moscow, Russia, and was a soloist for the Lundstrem State jazz orchestra from 1991-1996. During this time, he performed with all major Russian jazz musicians and toured extensively around the world. Since 1997, Oleg has been living and performing in Seattle, Washington.

Vidas Svagzdys (Rhythm Guitar/Principal) started as a violin player in middle and high school and studied and graduated as a guitarist from the Lithuanian National Music Academy in 1990. Since then, he has been working as a guitar teacher and performing with various bands in Lithuania, Poland, and around the world. His versatility and interest in different styles and genres make him a valuable member of the New Age Flamenco band.

Yusuf Kilgore "Solutsky" (Lead Guitar) is an accomplished guitarist, teacher, and composer known for his versatility and interest in playing different styles and genres. He received a B.A. in Folklore/Ethnomusicology at Indiana University and studied in the School of Music there. Yusuf currently resides in Seattle, where he is focused on being the lead guitarist for the New Age Flamenco band. He also performs in other groups that play Brazilian, salsa, gypsy jazz, americana, celtic, Eastern European folk, Latin jazz, flamenco, and bluegrass music.

Anna Vasilevskaya (Vocal / Guitar) is a composer and performer who was born in Novosibirsk, former Soviet Union. She studied at the Russian Academy of Theater Arts (GITIS) in Moscow and has been performing in groups and as a soloist since moving to the United States in 1995. In 2007, Anna and her husband Dmitry Vasilevsky founded Arts for Hearts, Inc., a company that promotes various arts through education, public and private performances, fundraisers, and other art-related activities. Anna has been performing with New Age Flamenco since.
