Our Practitioner
Kaz Wegmuller, L.Ac., is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist with over 20 years of experience in the healing arts. Kaz was born in Japan to Swiss and Japanese parents and was introduced to the East Asian healing arts through his childhood judo teacher. He received his first acupuncture treatment from his Korean martial arts instructor, which sparked his lifelong passion for Chinese medicine. Kaz studied anthropology at the University of California, Berkeley, and went on to receive a teaching credential from San Francisco State University and a Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine degree from Five Branches Institute. He has been practicing Chinese medicine ever since, while deepening his knowledge and perfecting his skills as a senior student of Japanese acupuncture master Anryu Iwashina.
Kaz is an accomplished writer and popular speaker, known for his warm and friendly demeanor, excellent bodywork skills, mastery of a particularly gentle and pain-free style of acupuncture, and love of the natural world. He is one of the very few acupuncturists left in the world who make their own needles, starting with small chunks of meteorite and a lot of firing and pounding, filing and polishing. Kaz's philosophy of healing is rooted in compassion, kindheartedness, and love.

Kaz spends an entire hour with you, constantly assessing the state of your muscles, channels, and organs during the treatment and using a needle one point at a time, as necessary. The entire process is enjoyable and relaxing.
- Therapeutic Bodywork: Kaz is a seasoned practitioner of therapeutic bodywork, providing a range of bodywork techniques to relieve pain, reduce stress, and promote relaxation.
- Herbal Medicine-Making: Kaz is an accomplished herbalist, making all his herbal tinctures, salves, and liniments by hand. We offer custom-made herbal formulas tailored to meet your individual needs.
