Our office, located in Atco, NJ, is home to a team of dedicated professionals who bring their expertise and technical knowledge to provide our clients with high-quality solutions.

Our firm is led by David R. Shropshire, a registered Professional Engineer and Professional Planner in the State of New Jersey. SA's involvement in over 1,000 projects across multiple states is a testament to our commitment to excellence and our expertise in the field. Our public sector clients include various municipalities, counties, and boards of education, as well as the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT).

Personnel

At Shropshire Associates, we have a team of licensed professionals, degreed engineers, technical support staff, and field technicians who bring their knowledge and experience to the table. Our projects are managed by licensed Professional Engineers who handle client relations and oversee the technical preparation of all deliverables. Our team members hold several licenses and certifications obtained through years of professional experience. We maintain professional engineer licenses in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia, as well as professional planner licenses in New Jersey. Additionally, our personnel maintain New Jersey certifications as Certified Municipal Engineers (C.M.E.), Professional Traffic Operations Engineers (PTOE), and Certified Noise Technicians.

Facilities & Technology

We believe in staying up-to-date with industry and regulatory standards and have an up-to-date technical library to ensure our engineers and staff are well-informed. Our workstations utilize MicroStation V8i computer-aided design (CAD) software, along with the necessary plotting hardware. Our CAD platform also includes AutoTurn software for simulating complex maneuvers for predefined and customizable vehicles and Visual Pro for highly accurate analysis of lighting design for roadways and parking facilities. We use the latest releases of Highway Capacity Software, TRANSYT-7F, Synchro, and SimTraffic for analyzing and modeling complex roadway networks and traffic distributions.

SA utilizes the CAL3QHC software program, as recommended by the Environmental Protection Agency, to model carbon monoxide dispersion associated with traffic delays along roadways and at intersections. Our field technicians are equipped with the latest traffic enumeration hardware, including handheld electronic traffic data collectors for accurately recording vehicle turning movements, traffic gaps, saturation flows, and other traffic data.
