Empowering Recovery through Peer Support and Education

The Thomas M. Wernert Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals living with mental illness. Our mission is to provide a safe and welcoming environment where people can find support, education, and advocacy. Established in 1993, we offer a unique peer-driven approach to recovery, where individuals who have lived experience with mental illness can connect, share, and support one another.

Our programs and activities are designed to address the various aspects of recovery, including peer support, mental health education, socialization, and recreational activities. We believe that isolation can be detrimental to recovery efforts, and our center provides a space where individuals can feel connected and empowered. Our peer staff and members are committed to fostering hope and supporting each other on the journey to recovery.

At the heart of our organization is the understanding that peer support is a powerful tool for recovery. Our programs are based on the mutual sharing of lived experience with mental illness among peers. This approach allows individuals to find comfort, understanding, and guidance from others who have gone through similar experiences. We also offer a range of services, including transportation, wellness activities, and access to resources and communities.

The Thomas M. Wernert Center is proud to be a part of the mental health community, working together with other organizations to provide comprehensive support services. We are committed to ensuring that every individual has access to the resources they need to thrive. Our diverse atmosphere of trust and mutual respect creates a sense of belonging, which is essential for the recovery journey.

If you are looking for a supportive community where you can start or continue your journey to recovery, we invite you to join us at the Thomas M. Wernert Center. Together, we can work towards a brighter future, filled with hope and support.
