Our History
The Cannon Center's history dates back to the 1920s, when the historic Ellis Auditorium stood on the same site. For 77 years, this iconic venue played host to legendary performers, including Elvis Presley, Baryshnikov, and Barney Williams. In 1996, the Ellis Auditorium closed its doors, and the site remained vacant for several years. However, a new chapter began in 2003, when the Cannon Center was built on the same spot, designed to exacting acoustic standards. This stunning theater was designed to showcase the beauty of the performing arts and provide a world-class venue for audiences to enjoy a wide range of performances.
