Founded by Dr. Joseph Nolan in the 1950s, the clinic has grown and evolved over the years, always staying true to its mission of delivering personalized and compassionate care to every patient.

Dr. Joseph Nolan, a World War II veteran and a respected optometrist in Oak Lawn, Illinois, was known for his groundbreaking research in contact lenses and orthokeratology. His son, Dr. John Nolan, joined the practice in the late 1970s and shared his father's passion for eye care, emphasizing the importance of yearly contact lens checkups and early eye examinations for all. In 2011, Dr. John Nolan tragically passed away, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and excellence.

Today, Dr. Mark Colander carries on the Nolan family tradition of providing top-quality eye care to the community. A Southside native and a graduate of Brother Rice High School, Dr. Colander earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University Chicago and his Doctorate of Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry. He completed an ocular disease residency at the Huntington VA Medical Center, where he honed his skills in providing comprehensive eye care to veterans.
