Chez Vous Bistro

Welcome to Chez Vous Bistro, your home away from home. Our name, which means "at your place" or "at your home" in French, reflects our mission to provide a warm, inviting atmosphere where you can enjoy contemporary French cuisine. Our location, 188 Bedford Street in the heart of Downtown Stamford, is an elegant pre-war stone building that houses our bistro, bar, and two dining rooms. We also have outdoor seating available from late spring to early fall.

Our Mediterranean colors and hand-painted wooden tables create an inviting, casual atmosphere that immediately makes you feel welcome. Our accordion doors open in the Spring through late Fall, inviting you to enjoy lunch on the patio. Additional seating is available at our bar or in one of the indoor dining rooms.

Chez Vous Bistro is the creation of Executive Chef-Owner Erik James Erlichson, who brings over 40 years of hospitality experience. Erik grew up in New York City and comes from a French family that has a rich history in the restaurant industry. His grandfather was a chef at The Waldorf Astoria Hotel, and his great uncle was a captain at Mama Leone's. Family friends George and Olga Wertz ran a neighborhood French Bistro named Chez Olga, where Erik learned classical French cuisine and pastry.

After working in various New York City kitchens and spending two years in Paris, Erik moved to Fairfield County, where he worked in notable establishments such as Sole e Luna, Cafe Morelli, La Colline Verte, Bistro Bonne Nuit, Saint Tropez, Chez Jean-Pierre, Acqua, and Versailles. Erik's last restaurant project in New York City was La Colombe d'Or, the first Provencal restaurant in New York City.

Chez Vous Bistro was made possible with the support of landlord/developers Mario and Greg Lodato, longstanding pillars of the downtown Stamford Community. Our goal is to make your experience at Chez Vous Bistro unforgettable.

Our Menu

At Chez Vous Bistro, we pride ourselves on offering a diverse and delicious menu that changes with the seasons. Our menu features classic French cuisine with a contemporary twist, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

We serve lunch Monday through Friday, brunch on weekends, and dinner seven days a week. Our dinner menu includes appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts, as well as a vegetarian and gluten-free menu. We also offer daily specials and a prix-fixe menu for early birds.

Our bar offers a variety of wines, beers, and cocktails that have been carefully selected to complement our menu. We offer a selection of fine wines from France and around the world, as well as craft beers from local breweries.

Our Food

At Chez Vous Bistro, we believe that food is not just sustenance; it's an experience. Our dishes are carefully crafted to be both visually appealing and delicious. We use only the freshest, locally sourced ingredients, and all of our dishes are made from scratch in our kitchen.

Our appetizers include classics like French Onion Soup, Escargots, and Pate, as well as contemporary dishes like Tuna Tartare and Cauliflower Risotto. Our salad selection includes traditional options like Caesar Salad and Frisee au Lardons, as well as unique dishes like Burrata and Beet Salad.

Our entrees include a variety of meat, poultry, seafood, and vegetarian options. Our Steak Frites, Coq au Vin, and Bouillabaisse are classic French dishes that have been beloved for generations. Our Contemporary dishes include Pan-Seared Duck Breast, Seared Scallops, and Grilled Octopus. Our vegetarian options include Ratatouille, Farro Risotto, and Spinach and Mushroom Stuffed Portobello.

We are proud to offer a gluten-free menu that includes many of our classic dishes, such as Steak Frites and Coq au Vin, as well as gluten-free pasta options. Our vegetarian menu includes options such as a vegetarian Quiche and Grilled Vegetable Platters.

At Chez Vous Bistro, we believe that dessert is the perfect way to end a meal. We offer a variety of classic French desserts, such as Creme Brulee and Chocolate Mousse, as well as contemporary desserts like Lemon Tart and Apple Tarte Tatin.
