The Bookstore is an independently owned local business that has been serving the community of Dillon, MT for over 40 years. Our store is a reflection of the Montana landscape and our passion for books of all genres. We specialize in books about Montana and the Western United States, and we are proud to feature local authors and host book signings and other "Meet the Author" events. Our goal is to provide a welcoming environment for book lovers of all ages and backgrounds, and to encourage a love of reading and learning in our community.

Our Services

In addition to our extensive selection of books, we offer a variety of services to meet the needs of our customers. We have a large selection of greeting cards, kids kits, calendars, sheet music and supplies, and a used book exchange. If we don't have what you're looking for on the shelf, we'll get it in your hands through our speedy custom order service. Our knowledgeable staff is always available to help you find the perfect book, and we are happy to offer recommendations and suggestions based on your interests.

Meet the Bookworms

Owner, Debbie Sporich

Debbie is a lover of words, a student of life, and a collector of dictionaries. She is the wife of Bill, and enjoys laughing and taking a book to the movie theater. She rides a pink Honda Scooter and is a sometime artist that plays with watercolor and creates personal meditation boxes. Debbie is a born and bred Montanan, raised in Augusta, and attended the University of Montana in Missoula before moving to the charming town of Dillon. She loves to help others find that perfect book and is an expert in Western authors.

Bookstore Clerk, Olivette Copple

Olivette is a student at Beaverhead County High School and loves books. She is a girl scout planning a trip to Japan and hopes to compete in Speech and Drama and Academic Olympics as a freshman. In her spare time, when she is not reading, she enjoys drawing and creating art. Olivette enjoys working at the bookstore and loves putting people together with a book that fits them.

Visit Us

The Bookstore is located in a historic downtown building at 26 North Idaho Street in Dillon, MT. At one time, this building housed the Pastime Theater and moonshine was sold from the still in the backroom. Today, The Bookstore and Cathy Weber's Art Gallery share this space and create a wonderful atmosphere for exploring the area through its local literature and art. We are open Monday-Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM, Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM, and are closed on Sunday.
