• Duodenal Switch: A surgical procedure that combines a sleeve gastrectomy with an intestinal bypass, resulting in a significant reduction in the absorption of calories and nutrients.
• Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy: A surgical procedure in which the stomach is reduced to about 25% of its original size, limiting the amount of food that can be consumed.
