The Wellington School is a coeducational independent school founded in 1982 by a group of entrepreneurs in Columbus, Ohio. Our school was conceived with the goal of creating a progressive and innovative education that fosters a love of learning, creative thinking, and personal growth. Our History

The Wellington School was founded in 1982 by a group of entrepreneurs who shared a vision of creating a coeducational independent school in Columbus, Ohio. Our founders spent three years refining plans, raising money, finding a property, and recruiting teachers and students before opening our doors in 1982. Today, many of our founders' children have graduated from Wellington, and some have even gone on to start their own families here, creating a sense of community that extends beyond our students and faculty.
