The Wellington School

The Wellington School is a coeducational independent school founded in 1982 by a group of entrepreneurs in Columbus, Ohio. Our school was conceived with the goal of creating a progressive and innovative education that fosters a love of learning, creative thinking, and personal growth. We believe that every form of diversity makes us stronger and strive for each member of our learning community to share their individual voice and have a deep sense of belonging.

Academics

At Wellington, we believe that every student is unique and should have the opportunity to explore their interests and passions. We offer a range of academic programs from preschool to grade 12, including early childhood and lower school education, middle school, and upper school. Our History

The Wellington School was founded in 1982 by a group of entrepreneurs who shared a vision of creating a coeducational independent school in Columbus, Ohio. Our founders spent three years refining plans, raising money, finding a property, and recruiting teachers and students before opening our doors in 1982. Today, many of our founders' children have graduated from Wellington, and some have even gone on to start their own families here, creating a sense of community that extends beyond our students and faculty.

Many of our alumni have gone on to achieve great things, including founding their own companies, working in NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and founding non-profit organizations.
