Irish Dance Academy-Alaska

Founded in 1997, the Irish Dance Academy-Alaska of Alaska has dedicated itself to cultivating a passion for Irish dance, culture, and tradition within our community. As a premier dance academy in Anchorage, we provide structured instruction for students aged 5 to 18, emphasizing both technical excellence and cultural appreciation. Our programs cater to all skill levels, from beginners taking their first steps in soft shoes to advanced dancers mastering hard shoes and performance techniques. With two 45-minute weekly classes for introductory students and progressive training opportunities, we ensure each dancer receives personalized attention to develop their abilities. Our tuition structure includes access to an online library of learning videos, allowing students to practice at their convenience throughout the season.

We maintain a strong commitment to community outreach, fostering a supportive environment where dancers of all experience levels can thrive. While we offer competitive training through our affiliation with the An Daire school of Irish Dance, many participants choose our program for recreational enjoyment. Our flexible enrollment policy accepts new students year-round in introductory classes, with recruitment efforts focused on spring and fall semesters. The academy follows the Anchorage School District calendar and maintains strict dress codes to ensure proper training conditions. Partially funded by generous community support, we remain grateful to organizations like The Atwood Foundation and Alaska Community Foundation for enabling our continued operation.
