The Story of Grieve Family Winery

Our journey began in 2002 when David and Kathleen Grieve decided to leave their corporate lives in San Francisco and pursue a dream to establish a winery in Napa Valley. Their love for wine and the great outdoors led them to Lovall Valley, where they purchased a 10-acre property that would eventually become their own estate vineyard. Over time, they developed a deep appreciation for the local climate, soils, and unique terroir, which ultimately inspired them to create their own unique wine style.

Wines

Grieve Family Winery produces two distinct wine labels: Grieve Family Estate Wines and Double Eagle Wines. Grieve Family Estate Wines are solely sourced from their estate vineyard, showcasing the distinctive characteristics of Lovall Valley. Double Eagle Wines, named after David's passion for golf, are a proprietary blend of estate fruit and premium grapes from select Napa Valley sites.

Winemaking Philosophy

Our winemaker, Philippe Melka, is a renowned expert in the world of wine, with a deep understanding of soil-driven wines.
