Since 1972, the Rhode Island Health Center Association (RIHCA) has been the unwavering voice for community-based primary care in the state. We represent and support the vital work of eight Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and one associate member, providing accessible healthcare services to every Rhode Islander regardless of their ability to pay.

Our Mission

Our mission is to strengthen and empower community health centers as the foundation of Rhode Island's primary care system. We advocate for accessible, comprehensive healthcare, ensuring every resident has access to quality care regardless of their background, income, or location.

What We Do

RIHCA actively contributes to the healthcare landscape in Rhode Island by:

• Supporting Advocacy & Policy: We advocate for policies and funding that prioritize community-based healthcare and support the sustainability of FQHCs.
• Providing Technical Assistance: We offer training programs, resource sharing, and technical guidance to member health centers on various aspects of healthcare management and service delivery.
• Promoting Collaboration: We facilitate collaboration among health centers through peer-to-peer networks, collaboratives, and regional initiatives.
• Strengthening Infrastructure: We support the recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals, enhancing the quality and sustainability of care.
