Detroit Martial Arts Institute

The Detroit Martial Arts Institute is a contemporary training facility that offers a wide range of martial arts programs for adults, children, and individuals with special needs. With over 96 years of combined experience, our Grand Masters, George Reynolds and Eugene Woods, have created a safe and secure environment for students to learn valuable life skills. Our 7,500 square feet facility is one of the largest in Detroit and includes instruction facilities for kids, teens, adults, and those with special needs, as well as a state-of-the-art after-school program.

Our Story

Our journey began in 2004 with the opening of our institute in Detroit. Since then, we have become a cornerstone for the community by providing licensed after-school programming during the school year, various camps throughout the summer, and a meet-up and meal location for kids. Our mission is to assist parents in providing a safe, secure place for their children to go while they are at work or in school.

Programs We Offer

Our programs are designed to benefit students of all ages and abilities. We offer children's classes, including "Lil Dragons" for pre-schoolers, adult classes focusing on self-defense and fitness, and specialized classes for those with special needs. Additionally, we provide after-school programs with transportation and summer camps to ensure a well-rounded development experience.

All of our classes are taught by certified black belt instructors who are dedicated to helping students develop confidence, focus, and self-control. Our instructors are committed to creating a supportive environment where students can grow and thrive.
