About Bloom Waterbirth and Wellness Center

Bloom Waterbirth and Wellness Center is a family-focused wellness center dedicated to serving the communities of Mendocino, Sonoma, and Lake counties. Our midwives have a combined experience of over 30 years and embrace an empowered, gentle approach to childbirth. We provide comprehensive midwifery and wellness services, educational resources, and community events to support families throughout the childbearing year. Our goal is to provide respectful, professional, and holistic care to moms and babies.

Our Services

We offer comprehensive, family-centered prenatal, birth, and postpartum care. Our licensed midwives provide one-hour prenatal visits, ensuring that you have the time and attention necessary to build a mutual relationship of trust and respect prior to your delivery. Prenatal visits are every four weeks until your 32nd week, every two weeks until 36 weeks, and weekly from 36 weeks until you give birth. We also offer ultrasounds with our ultrasound technician, Karen Han.

Our beautiful, large, birthing tubs are available in every birthing room. Water birth has numerous benefits for both mom and baby, including soothing the body, easing labor, and providing a gentle transition to life outside the womb. Our midwives are highly trained and experienced in water birth deliveries.

Births take place in our beautiful birth center in downtown Ukiah or in the comfort of your own home. Our midwives are experienced and respond to each woman's unique needs throughout the childbearing year. When you birth with Bloom, mom and baby receive respectful, professional, and holistic care.

Our postpartum services include well baby care for the first six weeks. We believe that postpartum care is crucial to the health and well-being of both mom and baby. Our midwives provide the necessary support and care to ensure a healthy and successful transition to motherhood.

Accreditation

Bloom Waterbirth Center is accredited by the Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers (CABC). Accreditation affirms our commitment to quality and to giving the best possible care to all of our clients. The CABC inspects birth center facilities with a comprehensive process that relying upon the American Association of Birth Center's nine key standards, including building codes, medical equipment, supply and demand of supplies, and the quality of care and clinical outcomes. It also confirms proper licensing of staff, correct charting standards for records, and the quality of care provided.
