Findlay Martial Arts Academy

Findlay Martial Arts Academy is a family-oriented martial arts center that has been in operation for over 20 years. We are dedicated to empowering lives through martial arts training, self-defense, and personal development. Our academy is led by John Paxton, a seasoned martial artist with a 5th-degree black belt in Kempo Karate, as well as black belts in Tae Kwondo, Iaido, Aikido, and Sogobudo. With a passion for teaching and training, Mr. Paxton has been the owner and chief instructor of Findlay Martial Arts Academy since 1998.

Our Philosophy

We aim to help students develop their physical and mental abilities through martial arts training, self-defense, and personal growth. Our instructors are dedicated to creating a supportive and encouraging environment that promotes self-confidence, discipline, and respect.

Programs and Services

We offer a range of programs and services, including:

• Iaido: A traditional Japanese martial art that focuses on the art of drawing and cutting with the sword, removing the blood from the blade, and re-sheathing the sword.
• Karate: Our dojo's style of martial arts is Shao-lin-ssu Kempo, which incorporates the kicking and punching techniques of karate with the takedowns, throws, and joint locks of ju-jitsu.
• Aikido: A traditional Japanese martial art that stresses harmony of the mind and body, designed to control rather than destroy the opponent.
• Little Ninjas: A program designed for children aged 4-6 years old, focusing on eight main life skills such as focus, teamwork, control, discipline, memory, balance, fitness, and coordination.
• Self-Defense: We offer self-defense classes for adults and children, teaching effective techniques for personal protection and empowerment.
