True North Missions

Our Story

At True North Missions, our mission is to provide primary medical care to the underserved Mayan Indians of Guatemala. For over 20 years, we have been dedicated to improving the health and well-being of this marginalized community. Our journey began in 1997, with yearly trips of one week duration, and has since grown to include up to six trips per year, treating over 4,000 patients annually.

Our Focus

Our focus is on providing preventative healthcare to children and their families, with a special emphasis on the most vulnerable populations. We believe that every person deserves access to quality healthcare, regardless of their zip code or socioeconomic status.

Our Team

Our team is comprised of volunteer physicians, medical students, nurses, and medical support staff, all working together to provide free medical care to the underserved. We believe that everyone has a role to play in improving global health, and we encourage physicians, medical students, and healthcare professionals to join us in our mission.

Our Impact

We have made significant strides in improving the health and well-being of the Mayan people. Our clinics have provided extensive care to isolated villages, where healthcare is nonexistent. We have seen a significant reduction in absenteeism from school, and cognitive skills have increased year over year.
