A Voice for Mental Health Consumers in Maine

The Consumer Council System of Maine (CCSM) empowers individuals with mental illness to be active participants in shaping the landscape of mental healthcare and public policy in the state. Founded in 1988, CCSM boasts a rich history of advocacy, empowering tens of thousands of consumers to take control of their journeys and influence crucial changes.

Our Mission

To ensure the voices of Maine's mental health consumers are heard in every aspect of policy development, service delivery, and advocacy initiatives.

1. Policy Advocacy

  • Tracking and influencing state legislation affecting mental healthcare access and quality.
