Glendora Youth Soccer

Glendora Youth Soccer (GYS) is a community-based organization dedicated to providing a fun, positive, and enriching soccer experience for children in the Glendora area. Established with a passion for youth development and a love for the sport, GYS has been fostering a sense of teamwork, sportsmanship, and camaraderie among its players for many years. Our mission is to create a welcoming and supportive environment where young athletes can learn, grow, and excel both on and off the field.

Our Services

GYS offers a comprehensive range of soccer programs designed to cater to the diverse needs and skill levels of our young players. Our primary offering is our fall season, a league competition that runs from August to November, featuring ten regular-season games plus playoffs. Young players, categorized based on age and birthdate, are divided into boys' and girls' teams for all age groups except for five-year-olds and 15-17 year olds, who participate in co-ed teams.

New players ages seven and above participate in a mandatory evaluation held in late July, designed to ensure a fair and balanced division of players within their age groups. Registration for the fall season opens early in the year and offers tiered pricing structure for various registration periods, providing families with flexibility. We also extend a sibling discount to further support our families.

Beyond our regular season, GYS actively collaborates with local soccer organizations to promote camps and clinics throughout the year. These supplemental programs provide players with opportunities to hone their skills, learn from experienced coaches, and interact with fellow soccer enthusiasts.

Volunteer Coaches: The Heart of GYS

At the core of GYS lies a dedicated team of volunteer coaches. These parents and family members of our players are the driving force behind our league's success. GYS warmly welcomes individuals with all levels of experience to join our coaching ranks. No prior coaching expertise is required - we provide comprehensive training and support to empower our coaches. We understand that coaching is a rewarding yet demanding role, and we are committed to providing our coaches with the resources they need to do their best.

Each coach receives a thorough orientation covering basic coaching techniques and player development principles. In addition to hands-on training, coaches have access to online resources and information that delve deeper into the intricacies of the game. GYS firmly believes in the power of teamwork and fosters a supportive environment where coaches can learn from one another and share best practices.
