Founded in 2010 by concert pianist and former professor Kimberly Cann, Piano Lab Studios has grown into a comprehensive music education provider serving Asheville and surrounding areas. Our mission focuses on delivering high-quality instruction accessible to all ages and backgrounds, with programs ranging from preschool music exploration to conservatory-level training. In 2019, we expanded our offerings under The Music Lab umbrella, and in 2025, we launched the Asheville Conservatory of the Arts to further enrich our community's cultural landscape.Our faculty combines professional expertise with innovative teaching methods, using state-of-the-art facilities and customized lesson plans to nurture musical growth. We maintain four physical locations while also offering flexible home and online lesson options to accommodate diverse student needs. What locations do you serve?
We have four Asheville-area locations: Westgate Parkway, Hendersonville Road, Haywood Road, and our new Asheville Conservatory of the Arts. We also offer home and online lessons.
Do you offer lessons for adults?
Yes! Our adult programs cater to beginners through advanced players, with flexible scheduling and personalized instruction focused on your musical interests and goals.
What instruments do you teach?
We offer piano, guitar, violin, voice, ukulele, and drum lessons, along with music theory and technology instruction for students of all ages.
Are recitals mandatory?
While we encourage participation, recitals are not required. We offer multiple performance opportunities annually, including virtual options when needed.
What are your tuition rates?
Monthly tuition starts at $120 for beginners, with packages varying based on lesson frequency, group/private format, and family enrollment.
Do you offer scholarships?
Yes, we provide need- and merit-based scholarships for piano students after one year of study, along with discounts for military families, teachers, and first responders.
