Holding Tanks need to be pumped out regularly, and Septic Systems with drain fields require service every three years. Holding Tanks

Holding Tanks have a set capacity for wastewater and solids, with an alarm often alerting you to pump out the tank at 75% capacity. Septic Systems

Septic Systems have a drain field where wastewater and solids separate through filters and baffles.
