We are a small family-run hotel, or pension, with 16 unique rooms decorated with Bavarian furnishings imported from Austria and Germany to provide an authentic "old world" experience. Our goal is to present you with a memorable experience in our Alpine surroundings, without the cost of airfare or a passport!

Our passion for authenticity and service is evident everywhere: from the Bavarian architecture and woodwork, and our imported furniture, to our traditional breakfast in our beautiful breakfast room. You will not find a more authentic Alpine lodging experience without traveling to Europe!

Our Rooms

We offer a variety of rooms to suit your needs, including Suites, Balcony Rooms, Hand Painted Furniture Rooms, and Exterior Private Entrance Lower Level Rooms. Each room is uniquely decorated with traditional Bavarian furnishings to ensure you have an unforgettable stay.

Our most unique accommodation is the Alte Kapelle, or Old Chapel, which was built in 1902 and served as a Catholic Church for many years. It was moved to its current location in 1992 and converted into two luxury accommodations: Alte Kapelle Suite (Old Chapel Suite) and Pfaffenwinkl (Parish Nook Room).

Amenities

We provide a range of amenities to make your stay with us comfortable and enjoyable. These include private parking for guests on our property, a true Bavarian breakfast, and a convenient location in the center of town, within easy reach of all that Leavenworth has to offer.

Our Bavarian breakfast is served with traditional German meats, cheeses, fresh rolls and German bread, homemade coffee cake, muesli, and much more. Tea, locally roasted coffee, and juice are also included.

About Us

Hotel Pension Anna is one of the most authentically Old World Bavarian designed buildings in Leavenworth. It was designed and built by Anne and Bob Smith in 1989, who drew their inspiration from Bavaria and Tirol where they had resided, traveled, and extensively researched the architecture, culture, and history.

In December of 2007, Gary and Michelle took on the hotel and carried on the tradition of a true Bavarian Pension. Gary had been a member of Leavenworth Alphorns, often seen playing in the Front Street Gazebo during long summer weekends. They are now happily retired!

In May 2018, Erika and Martin became the third generation of Pension Anna owners. They are the first European-born owners of the hotel, bridging their ancestry closer to the hotel's origins. While they met in Seattle, they fell in love with Leavenworth and got married standing in the gazebo of the old chapel.
