Producing farm-level sustainability through partnerships
At the Lafayette Ag Stewardship Alliance (LASA), we are dedicated to promoting sustainable and progressive agriculture practices in Lafayette County. As a farmer-led, nonprofit organization, we are committed to protecting and improving our natural resources, and enhancing the quality of life in our community.
Our Mission
Our mission is to identify, share, and promote conservation practices that demonstrate continuous improvement and preserve the environment. We believe that by working together, farmers and friends of agriculture can make a significant impact on protecting our water quality and natural resources.
Our Services
We offer a range of programs and services designed to support farmers and agriculture enthusiasts in Lafayette County. Our cost-share program provides financial incentives for farmers to implement conservation practices on their land. Our TNC Cover Crop Trial Incentive Program encourages farmers to try new cover crop practices, and our Pilot Sustainability Project aims to develop and test new conservation methods.
In addition to our programs, we also host educational events and opportunities for farmers and community members. Our annual meeting brings together farmers, conservationists, and community leaders to share knowledge and best practices in sustainable agriculture. We also offer a newsletter and regular updates on our news page to keep our members and supporters informed about the latest developments in agriculture and conservation.
Our Goals
Our goals are simple: to protect our natural resources, help the public understand general farming practices, and empower members to improve their farming techniques. We believe that by working together, we can achieve these goals and create a more sustainable future for agriculture in Lafayette County.
Our Values
At LASA, we value innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous improvement. We believe that by working together, we can develop and promote conservation practices that benefit both farmers and the environment.
