Dexter Animal Clinic has been an integral part of the community since 1971, when Dr. Steve Hastings founded the practice. In 1977, he began building the current clinic, which was completed with the help of friends and family members. Dr. Hastings has since retired from the veterinary practice, but his legacy lives on in the clinic's commitment to providing high-quality veterinary care, excellent service, and fair pricing.

Today, our team is comprised of skilled professionals who are dedicated to delivering top-notch care for your pet. Our Services

Our veterinary team is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for your pet. Our services include:

• General Care: Competent doctors who return your calls, a quiet country setting with ample parking, written estimates on request, affordable and fair fees, veterinary-supervised boarding, and well-pet visits.
• Sick-Pet Care: Sick patient exams and treatment, second opinion exams, in-house diagnostic lab panels, therapeutic and diagnostic soft-tissue surgery, on-site radiographs, basic behavior counseling, nutraceutical therapies, prescription medications and foods, and specialist referrals.

Boarding

Dexter Animal Clinic offers boarding for dogs and cats in our beautiful country setting. We offer a range of amenities for our canine and feline guests, including veterinary-supervised boarding, large kennels/outdoor runs, comfortable bedding, playtime options, spa time available upon request, separate cat area, administering medications, and love and TLC from our staff.

Online Pharmacy

We also offer an online pharmacy service, making it easy for you to purchase medications and pet supplies from the comfort of your own home.

Our Veterinarians

Our team of skilled veterinarians are dedicated to providing the best care for your pet. Dr. Ruth Hansen, who recently purchased the clinic, is an MSU graduate with 28 years of experience in small animal medicine. She enjoys all aspects of general medicine and surgery on dogs and cats and spends her free time with family and friends, both human and furry, loves reading, walking the dogs, and a bit of cooking.
