Diamond T Jewelers has been a trusted name in the jewelry industry since its establishment in 1993. However, the story of this esteemed business began over a decade prior when our founder, Ted Benfield, discovered his passion for rockhounding in the Blue Ridge Mountains during the late 70s. This hobby led to a fascination with gemstone cutting, and soon enough, Ted was cutting and selling colored gemstones to friends and acquaintances.

In 1982, Ted caught a peculiar illness known as "gold fever, " leading him to travel near and far in search of gold nuggets. While he never found the elusive giant nugget, his travels resulted in the accumulation of many tiny gold nuggets. With his newfound love for gold, Ted learned the craft of casting, transforming raw gold into beautiful rings, pendants, and other types of jewelry. During these years, jewelry repair became the primary source of income for Ted, paying the bills as he honed his skills.

Ted's expertise in jewelry repair earned him the reputation of a go-to repairman for seven other local jewelry stores. In 1993, Ted opened the doors of Diamond T Jewelers, featuring his skills in custom jewelry design, repair, and colored gemstones. Ted's son, Clint, joined the business in the same year to manage the daily operations and assist customers in diamond sales and custom designs. Today, Diamond T Jewelers has grown from a small custom shop into a full-service jewelry store, offering a wide range of services.
