PFC, the People's Food Co-op, is a community-owned natural grocery store and farmers market operator in Kalamazoo. Our cooperative is owned by nearly 3,800 community members, and while owning a grocery store with your neighbors is undeniably cool, everyone is welcome to shop at PFC! We are more than just an average grocer; we exist to build and nourish an equitable, resilient community. We call this statement our Ends, a draft created by our Board of Directors that guides every decision we make. As an anti-racist, anti-oppressive cooperative, we actively work to dismantle systemic racism and other oppressions in our organization, partnerships, and community.

Our store offers a wide array of natural products and healthful foods at reasonable prices. We pride ourselves on carrying a diverse selection of locally produced items, a vast bulk foods section, and an assortment of natural health and beauty products. The PFC experience goes beyond the storefront, as we are the proud operators of the Kalamazoo Farmers Market. We are committed to connecting the community with uncommonly good food, whether that be in-store or at the farmers market.

Change for Change: Making a Difference One Round-Up at a Time

At PFC, we believe in giving back to our community. The Change for Change program provides an opportunity for shoppers to contribute by rounding up their purchase total. Each month, the collected change supports a local organization. In May 2024, for example, your round-ups will benefit Kalamazoo Collective Housing, an organization working towards offering permanently affordable, democratically controlled rental housing near downtown.
