Puget Sound Yacht Club was founded in 1954 on the northern shore of Lake Union as an outboard motor boat club. We have maintained a long-standing tradition as a "Family" yacht club that fosters camaraderie through fun and engaging social events. Our club emphasizes boater education and outreach to local yacht clubs and boating organizations. Today, Puget Sound Yacht Club is an active cruising and social club dedicated to providing memorable boating activities and events. We focus on courtesy, safety, good seamanship, and the overall betterment of boating in the Puget Sound region. Our clubhouse is located on the shores of Lake Union, offering views of downtown Seattle and the Space Needle.We also maintain a peaceful outstation on Hat Island that includes golfing privileges for members. Our social calendar features wine tastings, dock parties, barbecues, boating lessons, bingo nights, and various other gatherings. Each year we organize approximately a dozen cruises to diverse destinations throughout Puget Sound. Historically, we have organized small-boat trips to Alaska, donated a boat ramp to the city, and been featured in Sea Magazine. We were the first yacht club to decorate both sides of our boats for the Opening Day Parade, a tradition that sparked considerable attention at the time.
