Our company was established in 2015 with a vision to create sustainable futures for home and business owners. We take care of all the design work, utility applications, permitting, and construction of your solar project. We also apply for any available incentives, and monitor your system upon completion for years to come. Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service, and we strive to make the process of going solar as easy and stress-free as possible.

Our Story

DeFreitas Enterprises, LLC was established in 2015 by Alexander DeFreitas, a lifelong resident of Chelmsford, MA. Alex has always been passionate about the environment and how we power our planet. After completing his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts - Lowell, he worked in the solar industry before establishing DeFreitas Enterprises, LLC to offer renewable energy projects to the NorthEast United States.

Since our inception, we have installed over 1000 kW of solar installations for over three dozen local home and business owners here in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. We contract directly with clients for turnkey solar projects, and also work with other solar companies and sales partners to build projects as an installation partner. We are currently expanding our business and project offerings into new enterprises, and are excited for the opportunities on the horizon.

Meet the Team

_Alexander DeFreitas, President & Chief Engineer_

Alex is a lifelong resident of Chelmsford, MA, and has always been passionate about the environment and how we power our planet. After completing his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts - Lowell, he worked in the solar industry before establishing DeFreitas Enterprises, LLC to offer renewable energy projects to the NorthEast United States.

_David Shanahan, Sales Manager_

David is also a lifelong resident of Chelmsford, MA, and joined our company in early 2019 to focus on sales and new client acquisition. He switched over to our installation team and is now a seasoned veteran on the roof, with over two years experience installing solar. He is passionate about the environment and can be found growing vegetables in his home garden in his spare time. He also enjoys bike and BMX riding and snowboarding in the wintertime. David graduated from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst in 2017 and has worked previously as a home energy auditor with HomeWorks Energy.

_Kyler Gallant, Head of Research_

Kyler is a Chelmsford native who assists part-time in our Research department. He looks for new products and plays an integral role in the long-term vision and sustainability of DeFreitas Enteprises. Kyler graduated from the University of Massachusetts - Lowell in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. He is currently taking night and summer courses to receive his Masters of Engineering Management.

Services Offered

_Turn-Key Solar Systems_

At DeFreitas Enterprises, we specialize in turn-key engineering, procurement, and construction of solar photovoltaic systems. We have the CAD design capabilities and installation background to show you what solar could look like and do for your home and walk you through every step of your project. From a (12) panel installation on a shed to a (3000) panel MegaWatt installation, we are equipped to handle any size project.

_Construction Services_

Our construction team focuses on a variety of custom-built structures, including backyard pergolas, decks, and ground-mount solar installations. The pergolas are an attractive addition to any yard space and can also be designed to be covered with translucent, bifacial solar panels.

_Battery & Energy Storage - Generators_

Working alongside our solar development team, the off-grid division of our Enterprises works to make homes and small businesses able to have electricity even without the grid. Folks with existing solar energy can add battery storage and/or a generator. New clients interested in solar + storage + generators will be given options from industry leaders Generac and Enphase Energy to develop the best solution for their property.
