At Smith's Woodcraft Specialty, we're a family-owned and operated custom woodworking business dedicated to providing exceptional craftsmanship and unparalleled customer service to the Indiana area. With over 35 years of experience, including an 18-month apprenticeship with our founder and a 4-year Bachelor of Science degree in industrial education with a specialty in woodworking, we're confident in our ability to bring your vision to life.

Our Expertise

Our founder, Basil Teter, began his business by primarily building kitchen cabinets, but over the years, our expertise has expanded to include a wide range of services, including:

• Repair and restoration of furniture and antiques
• Hand-made fireplace mantles and entertainment centers
• Wood-bending and cedar strip canoes
• Custom automotive interiors
• Wood-turnings up to 8-feet in length
• Millwork, trim, and staircases
• Spinning wheels repaired or made to order
• Repairing and building chairs and stools
• Repairing and building entire kitchen suites from scratch

Our Shop

Our 4000 sq. ft. shop is equipped with the latest technology and tools, allowing us to tackle even the most complex projects with ease. Located in north-eastern Howard county in Indiana, near Kokomo, our shop is situated on a beautiful rural property that was once a working orchard. We've converted the main fruit warehouse into our shop, which is conveniently located just a few feet from our home, allowing us to raise our family while giving your project the attention it deserves.
