Driven by the belief that exceptional talent generates its own demand, Gordon, seasoned by nearly four decades of experience at Baker, established a legacy of unparalleled craftsmanship. His son, Rick Van Der Meulen, joined the company in 1991, bringing his own extensive background in furniture making and finishing to the team. Rick, who began his career at Baker Furniture in 1972, further strengthened the family's dedication to providing world-class restoration services.

Today, the business continues its proud tradition under the leadership of Alicia Van Der Meulen, Rick's daughter. Cultivating her passion for the craft from a young age, Alicia diligently learned the art of refinishing, culminating in a full-time position at the family business following her education. In 2015, as Rick prepared for retirement, Alicia seamlessly transitioned into the role of chief operating officer, and assumed the mantle of president, CEO, and owner in 2017, ensuring the continued excellence and longevity of Van Der Meulen's Fine Finishers.
