Steve Hausmann is an accomplished PGA golf pro with a passion for teaching and helping golfers of all levels of ability enjoy the game of golf. With over 30 years of teaching experience, Steve has played many roles in the golf industry, from tournament player to head golf professional.

PGA Playing Accomplishments

Steve's impressive golf career includes numerous awards and achievements, including:

  • 2003 Gateway PGA Player of the Year
  • 2004 Winner of the Southern Region PGA Club Professional Championship in Taccoa, Georgia
  • Qualified and played in 10 PGA National Professional Championships
  • Top 10 in Gateway Section PGA Point List Consistently 2003 and 2008
  • Winner of multiple Gateway PGA Tournaments
  • 2014 Match Play Champion in South Central PGA
  • Finished 7th in 2018 New England PGA Section Championship
  • Finished 8th in 2019 New England PGA Wogan Player of the Year Standings
  • 2020 Winner of New England PGA Stroke Play #5

PGA Experience

Steve's extensive PGA experience includes:

  • Played the North Florida and Gary Player Mini Tours in Florida in 1994 and 1995
  • Coached the University of Missouri Men's Golf Team in 1998 through 2000, leading the team to a NCAA Division II National Tournament in 1999
  • Spent six years as the Teaching Professional for Algonquin Golf Club, teaching over 1000 lessons per year to golfers of all ages and abilities
  • Spent nine years as Head Golf Professional of Algonquin Golf Club, maintaining a robust teaching schedule and directing an active junior golf program for over 100 young golfers
  • Taught at Willowbend Golf Club in Wichita, KS from 2011-2018
  • Taught at Amherst Country Club in Amherst, NH from 2020-2021
  • Currently teaching at Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo, IL, and Tapawingo National Golf Club in St. Louis, MO

Personal Facts

Steve is a lifelong resident of the St. Louis metropolitan area before moving to Wichita in May 2011. He and his wife Sherry moved to Amherst, NH in July 2018 and returned to the St. Louis area in December 2021 after Sherry's retirement. They are now enjoying being close to all five daughters and grandson Bennett. Steve is a 1991 graduate of Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, where he attended on a soccer scholarship and was a "walk on" to the golf team.

Lesson Experience

Steve's extensive experience in teaching golf includes the use of video analysis in lessons, which allows students to gain a better understanding of their swing mechanics and make adjustments for improvement. He is dedicated to helping golfers of all levels of ability to enjoy and improve their game, regardless of their current skill level.

Lessons Offered

Steve offers private lessons, group lessons, and semi-private lessons tailored to the individual golfer's needs and goals. His lessons cater to golfers of all ages and abilities, from beginners to low-handicap players. He uses a variety of teaching techniques, including video analysis, mirrors, and other training aids to help students improve their game.
