Our History

The Fogelsong family has been involved in the baler business for nearly 100 years, starting in 1919 when Wilfred Fogelsong worked for Economy Baler in Detroit and later in New York City. Wilfred's sons, Bob and Tom, followed in his footsteps, with Bob starting his own manufacturing business, Ann Arbor (MI) Baler Company, in the 1970s, and Tom becoming a rep for Economy Baler in Chicago in 1959. When Economy Baler was bought out in 1973, the new company required reps to become dealers, leading to the birth of ENQUIP, INC. in Downers Grove, IL.

ENQUIP, INC. initially focused on selling balers, but soon expanded to provide baling wire and servicing at the request of their first big customer, a prominent Chicago area grocery store chain. In 1979, ENQUIP, INC. became BALERS INC., a name that reflects the company's focus on providing quality recycling equipment and systems.
