With over 40 years of experience, our owner, a graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Landscape Architecture, has built a reputation as a reliable source of high-quality lumber and expertise in landscape design and construction.
Our Story
Our journey began in 1972, when our founder started his landscape business. With a passion for nature and a commitment to environmentally friendly practices, he expanded his business to include log home design and construction in 1979. The destruction of timber on his family-owned tree farm due to hurricanes in the 1990s led him to explore alternative ways to recycle downed trees, rather than sending them to landfills. This marked the beginning of our sawmill business, which has grown to meet the increasing demand for custom cut lumber, hard-to-find species, and reclaimed lumber.
Our Services
At Sell & Associates, we offer a wide range of services to cater to the diverse needs of our clients. Our state-of-the-art sawmill is equipped with the latest technology, including a Wood-Mizer LT70 bandsaw, a twin blade Wood-Mizer Edger, a kiln for drying lumber, a 24" Power Matic planer, a 16" joiner, and a shaper for milling ship lap siding. We provide custom cut lumber, design, and construction services for homeowners, building contractors, architects, designers, and crafters. Our commitment to sustainability and green industry values means that we prioritize recycling and reusing urban timber, which makes up 85% of our lumber stock.
