Our Founder

Avi Magidoff, L.Ac., has been practicing acupuncture for over 25 years, first in San Francisco and now in Portsmouth, NH. He attributes the success of his unique Japanese style of acupuncture to two key factors: the reliance on abdominal diagnosis and confirmation of results, and persistent tracking of current problems to possible past injuries which still have a hold on the body, while clearing the past in order to be fully alive in the present moment. Avi is known for his no-nonsense and compassionate approach and understanding. His acupuncture style is unique and obtains quick and lasting results.

In 1992, Avi founded the Acupuncturists Support Group in San Francisco, with the goal of promoting education and collaboration amongst acupuncturists. The ASG has sponsored numerous seminars with renowned practitioners, including Jeffrey Yuen, Elisabeth Rochat, Kiiko Matsumoto, and Jian Fu Jiang, among others. These seminars have provided valuable opportunities for acupuncturists to learn from each other and deepen their understanding of Chinese Medicine.

We also offer articles and handouts on various topics related to holistic health and acupuncture, as well as teaching videos that showcase Avi's unique approach and techniques. These resources are designed to be informative and practical, providing individuals and professionals with the knowledge and tools they need to promote holistic health and wellbeing.
